Radio

Have a glass of water handy, so that when the host goes to commercial you can have a drink to clear your throat. And time the piece that you're going to read, so the host will know if there's time for it. You might have to read another one, so ask upfront how much time you'll have for a reading. These are tips for ALL radio and television shows, so the length of the readings might vary.

My radio shows "Around2It, and BookNook, are laid-back. Kind of like two old friends talking on the phone. Just send me your bio, and a synopsis (100 words) of your book via email (in the body of an email--no attachments). Provide me with your phone number AFTER I've returned your email and am ready to schedule you for the show.

I am located in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I'm on CST, but the interviews are on EST. A normal interview will be 15 minutes.

Please try to reduce all background noises, like: televisions, radios, crying babies, and anything else that would compromise a quality interview. If at all possible, have a land phone, as they have better reception than cell phones. And, remember to speak loudly and distinctly.

Notify me in advance if you have any promotional items and/or services to give away during your interview. Have your book handy, for you might want to read an excerpt. We'll discuss things like: Who are your favorite authors? Why do you write? Where do you get ideas? What are some of the things you've done to promote your work? Do you have a support network? Tell my Around2It, or BookNook listeners where you receive motivation? Do you have any mentors? What are your future plans? Any new books? Upcoming book signings? Other literary events? What advice do you have for aspiring writers?

Please sign the guestbook, AFTER you've been interviewed for "Around2It." That's about it.I send a notice about the interview to all my online groups! And, I mention all guests in the Marguerite Press eNewsletter.

The interviews remain live on the Around2It page for two weeks, then you may copy your interview to your hard drive. To do that see below:
