February 2007 Marguerite Press eNewsletter
Vol. 8 Issue 1
Greetings!
Welcome to this edition of the Marguerite Press eNewsletter! The tiny book and flower is our registered trademark.

We have exciting news! Read about Delores Thornton below from COS Founder, Sheila Clover English, and Authors4Charity Founder, Shirley Dicks:
COS has a new African American Division! Circle of Seven Productions has a new Division Leader! We started working with AA authors last year, but quickly I realized that, though I may have African American friends and clients, I did not know the African American market.

It's always a humbling experience to think you know something and then find out you know pretty much nothing. We have a wonderful line up of authors that we will be promoting. Francis Ray, Ann Christopher, LA Banks, Kayla Perrin, just to name a few (please visit the COS site and view the sensational book trailers www.myspace.com/cosbooktrailers).

It's important to me and to COS that we be able to offer appropriate and adequate promotions for the videos we create. The AA market is a very popular niche market that is growing so fast! That's exciting, and we want our AA clients to benefit from any and all promotional opportunities that are out there, that we can tap into.

So, I set out to find someone who knows the market, understands the readers and the media for that market. Davheed, who I met here on MySpace has always been so gracious and helpful, so I turned to her first. She recommended someone who writes AA novels, and does publicity for AA authors.

I am thrilled to say that as of February 7, 2007, Delores Thornton has accepted the position as Division Leader for our AA Division!

Also, as of February 10, 2007 Delores Thornton is the Public Relations Manager and will be doing promotion work to get Authors4Charity.com out there!

Authors4Charity will have seminars, teaching workshops on writing, self publishing and promotions.

In other news, we have winners in the 5th Annual Marguerite Press Literary Awards - 2006! The overall winner in the Small Press Contest (Leading Lady Publications) will receive the coveted Marguerite Press Etched GlassTrophy. Winners in the other contests will receive a certificate (with Gold Embossed Marguerite Press Seal) and a website award.   Please allow us to introduce Carlene D. Heeter

Carlene Heeter was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Married twenty years, she and her husband Kevin have four children and two grandchildren.

Carlene was stressed out and physically broken down from the abundance of suffering life continued to dump on her. The domino effect of the events left her weary and every time she thought she was over an emotional hump, another storm would come along and destroy her progress. She couldn’t focus on anything and had lost her desire to function.

Carlene fought one physical aliment after another, went through a bitter divorce, and found her second “dream marriage” now on the rocks. She faced the challenge of raising boys in a troublesome society. Despite her best efforts, her oldest son ended up incarcerated on what she felt was a bogus charge. Life had dealt her a bad hand with nothing positive in sight.

Feeling like she had been cursed with a plague, no one could convince Carlene that she wasn’t the twentieth century Job, and just like him she was holding on to a tested faith and praying to God to fix things for her. She had to find a way to get out of this rut, or it was going to suck the life right out of her.

This book is about one mother’s trials and tribulations and how God enabled her to carry on when all appeared hopeless. She shares her breakdown in faith and perseverance when she was powerless and her breakthrough. As you read her sequence of trials, you will surely be able to relate to many events in this book.

Get your box of Kleenex ready because her story is guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, want to fight and even rejoice.
